Product Summary

The PCM1738E is a CMOS, monolithic, Integrated Cir-cuit (IC) that includes stereo Digital-to-Analog Convert-ers (DACs) and support circuitry in a small SSOP-28package. The data converter PCM1738E utilizes a newly developedadvanced segment DAC architecture to achieve excel-lent dynamic performance and improved tolerance toclock jitter. The PCM1738E provides balanced currentoutputs, allowing the user to optimize analog perfor-mance externally, and accepts industry standard audiodata formats with 16- to 24-bit data, providing easyinterfacing to audio DSP and decoder chips. Samplingrates up to 200kHz are supported. The PCM1738E alsohas two optional modes of operation: an external digital-filter mode (for use with the DF1704, DF1706, andPMD200), and a DSDdecoder interface for SACDplayback applications. A full set of user-programmablefunctions are accessible through a 4-wire serial controlport that supports register write and read functions.
